The animated caption templates use free, open-licence typefaces, including Montserrat, Poppins, Inter and Luckiest Guy. When one of them is missing from your system, Premiere shows a missing-font warning and substitutes another one.

How to install the fonts

  1. Download the missing typeface from Google Fonts (all are free, including for commercial use).
  2. Install the font files: Windows – right-click → Install for all users; macOS – double-click → Install.
  3. Restart Premiere.

The “Adobe Fonts” window

Premiere may offer to sync from Adobe Fonts. If the typeface is not available in your Adobe plan, simply install it from Google Fonts as above.
